Myxococcus  

What you should know:

Myxococcus is an aerobic, Gram-negative, rod-shaped gliding bacterium. Under certain conditions, Myxococcus cells swarm together to form a fruiting body for reproduction. The spores formed in such fruiting bodies may survive for up to 10 years.
