Toxoplasmosis

Introduction.

Toxoplasmosis is caused by the protozoan sporozoa Toxoplasma gondii. It is a zoonosis commonly found in house cats and transmitted by oocysts found in cat feces or in meat from infected animals. Complications arise in AIDS patients, where disseminated toxoplasmosis can occur and lead to blindness and other serious problems.
