Chloroflexus

What you should know:

Chloroflexi are Gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria which can be photoheterotrophs or chemoheterotrophs. When light is available, they carry out anoxygenic photosynthesis using bacteriochlorophyll and succinate (organic materials) as carbon and electron source.
